The picture above is a good shot of the REME workshops and to the top left is the Medical Center. The REME fitters and mechanics were very busy people. The wear and tear on any sort of machinery was enormous and the work demands on the REME personnel reflected that workload. Steve Perkins, John Owen, Derek Taylor, Rob Lavallin and Gary Jones were REME bods who worked on the Operation Crown project either at the airfield or Bangkok. We await their stories, until then a slideshow (below) of the broken and bent machinery will give some idea of the REME workload.
