5001 Airfield Construction Sqn

The RAF have a long history of building airfields and their busiest time was during WW11. For a detailed history of RAF Airfield Construction go to the 'Links' page and click on the appropriate link. 5001 Airfield Consruction Squadron RAF worked out the end of their existence at Operation Crown. Shortly after they departed from Thailand they were absorbed into the Corps of Royal Engineers and became 51 Sqn RE. Again you can go to the 'Links' page and follow the story through if you wish?
